Important role - the Referee. If your child is playing in the 10U, 12U or 14U divisions it is important to be aware that their team cannot qualify for post-season play without accumulating at least 9 referee points so every team should have 1-2 trained referee volunteers set before games start. Referees are as important as the coaches. We do not pay referees to work the games and solely rely on volunteers. We provide training online and in-person in August. Being a referee is a great way to be closer to the kids and action, learn the game, and make new friends. We provide training and advice for all the Team Staff volunteer positions and you certainly don’t need to have a detailed knowledge of soccer or sports to get started. All you need is a willingness to help make a difference – knowing whatever your role, you’re going to impact the lives of kids and improve the quality of life in our communities.
